Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGIUSEPPE (JOE) CARNEVALE July 16, 1924 - November 6, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our father, Giuseppe (Joe) Carnevale, in his home on Saturday, November 6, 2010. Dad was predeceased by his parents Luigi and Maria Antonia Carnevale. Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosa, four children, Maria (Joe) Botincan, Lou (Sheila), Frank (Jacquie), Mirella (Greg) Bowers, eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Tatiana, Sarah, Leigha, Matthew, Andrea and Joey. Also left to cherish dad's memory will be his sisters, Franca Tocci, Enza (Angelo) Gesualdo, Fernanda Cuconati in Italy, Rita Capitano, and brothers, Vince (Francesca), Silvio (Teresa), Pasquale (Gina) and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Dad was born in Santa Maria Le Grotte (Calabria), Italy on July 16, 1924 and immigrated to Winnipeg in the spring of 1967 to join his parents and siblings. Once he was settled, the rest of the family joined him in October of 1967. Our father worked in construction most of his life and retired from Matador Converters in 1989. Dad liked gardening and making wine, but his greatest love was his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He always looked forward to the holidays when we would all get together at our house for one of mom's great dinners. The last couple of years were really rough on dad as mom's dementia rapidly became worse and he could no longer take care of her. After mom was placed in a personal care home, dad sold his house and moved into an apartment attached to the home, so that he could be with her every day. The family would like to thank his neighbours and the cafeteria staff at 1080 Powers for being so kind and helpful to dad. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of one's choice. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Reverend Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Viewing will be held one half hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
